What a wonderful, free experience. Lucien the owner was very kind and helpful with showing us how to use the campervan to its full potential. Driving the Ovation was easy, comfortable and relaxing and the engine was powerful. The feeling of being able to stop and relax and nap whenever you want was liberating, as well as having a toilet there whenever you need it. Not having to unpack your things when you arrive at your destination was great. We cooked up a delicious breakfast in the camper and ate with a great view of the ocean. Being able to hear the ocean at night and birds in the morning whilst in a comfortable and luxurious setting felt like the best of both worlds – camping and being with nature whilst in the comfort of a home. My partner said that we will travel a lot more often if we can do it this way as he loved it. An experience everyone should have, once you do it once you will want to do it again and again. Hi everyone, what a great experience! No planning, no hotel, motel or caravan park booking. We felt free! We packed some things and hit the road. The driving was smooth and the van innovative, easy to use and with all the comforts of a mobile home. We woke up every morning to the singing of birds and the rising sun. On the last day we cleaned the van and returned it to the owner. We found the dealing with the owner to be easy and fair. We had a tremendous experience and a good value for money.
We highly recommend this tremendous experience to everyone!
If you are serious about hiring a motor home in Canberra it is the right place. The van was spotlessly clean and luxuriously fitted allowing the most comfortable travel and resting experience. The high quality audio and TV system afforded us with superb entertainment even while in wilderness and far away from any civilization. We had a dream like nomadic holidays along the NSW coast and the hinterland area.
We had a great time and we returned the van undamaged and clean receiving back our bond money in full. We highly recommend the van and such a lovely travel experience to everyone. We thanking Lucien for letting us have such a marvellous experience.
If you’re looking for a motorhome in Canberra, you can’t go past John’s Ovation. Very comfortable to drive, with a great gearbox that can take the mountain passes, this van is easy to drive and maneuverable enough to cope well with suburban streets.
Inside, the cabin is extremely well appointed and functional, with the seats and bed especially comfortable. Extras like a satellite TV and fully functional bathroom make camping in luxury a breeze.
The wind-out awning is perfect to create some shade, and the fly-screens and blinds make it easy to block out the outside world when you need to get some rest.
Overall, a very satisfying experience.
Our trip was fantastic and this was due to the camper van and Lucien the owner.
The campervan was very comfortable and reliable. It was easy to drive and offered a great style of holiday especially in the wet weather.
Lucien was very approachable and was very helpful regarding showing us how the campervan worked etc.

Four days in Lucien’s van proved an absolute pleasure. Clean, neat with everything you could wish for in a van ‘ including the kitchen sink’ ! Incredibly easy to drive, economical and above all comfortable.

We just returned from a dreamy 9 night surf safari on the South coast in the luxury Ovation. The owner was friendly and available for tips before and during the trip, and was happy to negotiate on pick up and drop off times to suit us. The van itself was easy to drive, no additional licence required, with a decent turning circle. The automatic transmission could tackle Brown Mountain and the Kangaroo Valley with ease. The interior of the van is thoughtfully kitted out, with all the amenities you could imagine. While the shower looks small, it is certainly ample enough and has piping hot water. The stove top is gas, easy to use, and we even managed to bake a decent cake in the gas oven. There is ample storage, with two people requiring less than one third of the available space. It comes fully equipped with cookware, all you need is linen and food. There is no need to stay in a caravan park or book ahead, just pull up, park and you are ready to go. There is an external awning which means wet weather is no worry, and the van is thoughtfully stocked with outdoor chairs, tables (and mosquito repellant). The boot is an excellent place to store damp and sandy wetsuits and dive gear. The van is also equipped with an outdoor shower (with hot water!) which is fantastic after a surf in mid-winter.
We had a fantastic time, and didn’t want to give the keys back! Already planning our next trip.

Great van, fantastic way to travel. Will definitely do it again. The owners were a pleasure to deal with. Can’t wait for our next adventure.
We really enjoyed travelling in the Discovery for several days. It was much easier to drive than we’d expected and we made it down the Clyde Mt and up Mt Brown with no trouble. The beds were amazingly comfortable. We hope this was the first of many trips.
We had a great first camper van experience and Lucien was terrific to deal with. He made it very easy to book and return without any fuss. On our trip down the South Coast we stayed at beach and waterfront sites which was wonderful – watching the sun set, birdlife and wildlife – we are so lucky to have such a beautiful country to explore. sWe’ll certainly do it again. 😁👍🏼
